A Nod to Megan Morgan

In the past, on a different blog, I enjoyed interviewing other authors for a time. It was informative, exciting, and I like to think beneficial to them in a modest way. Now I’m too busy satisfying my muse for such pursuits.

That said, I found a fellow writer toward the end of April’s A to Z Blog Challenge who caught my attention. While I didn’t contact this person regarding my idea, I have to share Megan Morgan’s acerbic, tongue-in-cheek fiction writing warnings resonating real world concerns.

Following is the thoughtfully provided alphabetic listing of all the ironic tells of writing, editing, and publishing ins and outs:

Are you a writer? If so, do you share my lacking ambition to be published?

By the way, I thank Nick Wilford for leading me to this. His Scattergun Scribblings inspires me, too.

  1. A writer...haha, NO. Always wanted to be but I am not. Then again I always wanted play a musical instrument and sing. Can't do that either. So...I have settled for painting, drawing, photography and crafting.

  2. "Lacking ambition to be published"? Does that mean you don't want to publish your writing? If so, there's nothing wrong with that. Personally, I'd just like to finish something someday.

    1. That's how I feel for now, too afraid to share my characters with the cold cruel world. :P Thanks for the kind word. I've finished fourteen novelettes in my series and am addicted to polishing them yet again at the moment. I need to work on the total rewrite of "Leopard Print" after today's revisions on "Kennel Club: BloodMoon Book 5". ~grin~ I'm thrilled to have my muse back. Be well!

  4. I have absolutely no desire to be published! I'm happy just to share my work with our inspirational blogging family. Love Nick's writing by the way. I did actually purchase one of his books on Amazon a while back.

    1. And we are so blessed that you share, both your prose and your photography. I think I'll be checking out Nick's books, as well. As for me, I have this idea of someday putting my entire series on a website through which folks can donate money if they feel the urge. For now I'm too fearful of critics to truly share anywhere. ~shudders~ We shall see what the future holds. Happy writing!

  6. Morning, read you comment on my blog about what you write. I love that stuff. That is the kind of stories I love to read. The series I listen to on tape is about sisters, 1/2 human, 12 Faeie, one is a witch, one shifts to a cat and the other is a vamp. They are written by Yasmine Galenorn, about the D'Artigo sisters. Great stories, lots of sex. Sounds a lot like what you write. I know I would enjoy your stories.

    1. How kind of you to say! I should check these books out, too. It's helpful to read the genre you want to write. And the rather lame science fiction story currently open on my Kindle Fire is not fitting the bill.
